Cayman Islands Beach Bars

When visiting the Cayman Islands, there are a lot of things to do to keep busy. There is great dining, snorkeling, diving and history. However, sometimes it is nice to just take an afternoon to soak in the sand and sun with a drink in your hand. There are a lot of great beach bars on 7 Mile Beach. What defines a "beach bar"? In my eyes, it's a place you can go to in your swimsuit and get a drink (or food!) Today we'll take a look at some of them!

  • Macabuca-Some would say this is Grand Cayman's premier ocean front bar. What does Macabuca mean? It means "What does it matter?" which is a perfect saying when you are on island time. Located in West Bay, this tiki bar offers incredible Caribbean views and a unique scuba diving site. Whether stopping for lunch, happy hour or a casual dinner, Macabuca has something for everyone. If you are into snorkeling, bring your mask with you, because with great snorkeling just steps away, you never know what you might see! Favorites: conche ceviche, blackened mahi tacos and Macabuca Punch.

With the purchase of food or drink, Nova has a beautiful pool and beach chairs available for use. With a lot of small plate options, Nova is great for lunch or sunset drinks. Favorites: Wahoo Ceviche, Yellow-fin tuna tartare, Grilled local snapper and Gardarita (Cucumber jalapeno tequila drink).

  • Tukka-With 2 locations (one in West Bay and one on the East End), Tukka provides a taste of Australia with a Caribbean twist. Whether looking for a nice dinner, a quick lunch or just drinks with a view, Tukka offers it all. Favorites: Kangaroo Loli-Pops, Lion Fish Tacos.

While there are numerous other spots, these 6 are some of my favorites! Have you ever found yourself at a Beach Bar on Grand Cayman and had a great time, but don't see it listed above? Shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] and let me know! I'd love to share it in a future post. Cheers!
